Dolly Parton Refuses Broadway: Lacks 'That Kind of Voice'
Legendary country music singer Dolly Parton has ruled out any possibility of ever performing on Broadway in a recent interview.
The 66-year-old has composed over 3,000 songs over the course of her career and her distinct voice has made her known as "The Queen of Country Music."
Despite her prolific career though, Parton said performing on Broadway would have taxing results on her voice.

"I'm amazed by the people who work on stage, that sing night after night, week in week out," the "Jolene" told The Daily Express.
"I don't have that kind of voice," she continued. "I really don't think my voice would hold up to a do a show like that. That's one of the reasons I've never been on Broadway."
It is very common for singers to experience problems with their voice and throat as a result of their careers, and many artists such as have special routines that include warm ups and rest for preserving their vocal chords.
"But I do take care of my voice," Parton added, according to the British newspaper.
With a career that has spanned over five decades, Parton is well known for her songs such as "Coat of Many Colors," "My Tennessee Mountain Home," and "I Will Always Love You," which went on to become an international pop hit for Whitney Houston.
Many of her songs reflect Parton's family's evangelical Christian background, and are praised for having strong elements of folk music.
Parton marriage has lasted almost as long as her career. She has been married to Carl Thomas Dean for 46 years.
"We're really proud of our marriage," Parton previously told the Toronto Sun. "It's the first for both of us. And the last."
Meanwhile, Adele, John Mayer, Keith Urban, and many more singers were recently forced to take time off for their voices, making Parton's decision to avoid Broadway understandable.
Urban, also a country music star, was diagnosed with throat polyps last year and required rest and recuperation after surgery to remove them.
