Dr. Ben Carson's 'One Nation' Book Tops New York Times' Best Sellers List
Neurosurgeon and notable conservative speaker Dr. Ben Carson's most recent book has made it to the No. 1 spot on the New York Times' best sellers list.
Dr. Carson's One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America's Future, debuted on the "Hardcover Nonfiction" list at No. 1 last week and remains so this week.
In the Hardcover Nonfiction category, One Nation is trailed by French economist Thomas Piketty's Capital in the Twenty-First Century at No. 2, and Mariano Rivera's memoir, The Closer at No. 3.
One Nation also is found at No. 2 for the "Combined Print and E-Book nonfiction" category, having been recently knocked out of the No. 1 slot by the-late Maya Angelou's memoir, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
Released last month, One Nation lays out advice that Carson has for helping to resolve various national problems in the United States.
In an earlier interview with The Christian Post, Carson explained that he hopes to "wake people up to the fact that we are being manipulated by people who want to divide us."
"If you look at the neo-Marxist literature, one of the ways they say to bring the United States down is divide and conquer," said Carson.
"And here you see all these wars, race wars, income wars, gender wars. You know, virtually any kind of thing you think of we have a war on it."
Carson added that he wants "the people to recognize that we, the American people, are not each other's enemies; the enemies are those people who are attempting to divide us up."
"And I go through great pain to make sure that they know who those people are," said Carson to CP last month.
Since his speech at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, many conservatives have openly spoken about having Carson run for president.
The Facebook group for the Virginia-based organization "National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee" has over 134,000 likes.
"We're building a national infrastructure of organized grassroots volunteers to encourage Dr. Ben Carson to run for the Republican nomination for President of the United States," reads the group's Mission statement.
"Our goal is to demonstrate to Dr. Carson that many people believe he is the person who can help heal our land, and that he will have the support needed to make him a viable candidate."
