'DWTS' Recap: Snooki's Tearful Elimination
Last night's round of "Dancing with the Stars" saw an emotional goodbye after the eight remaining couples performed team dances on the show.
Monday's competition was split into two rounds. First, each couple performed both a dance style they had not yet tried, including the Salsa, Quickstep, Samba, Cha Cha, Paso Doble and the Jive. Next, the cast danced together on two different teams, with each couple having a featured solo along the routine.
Nevertheless, one celebrity contestant and her professional dance partner were sent home despite their samba. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and her partner Sasha Farber were eliminated after their Team "Spooky Bom Bom" score failed to save them.
The Halloween-inspired routine saw the "Jersey Shore" star and her partner clad in scary costumes including fake blood, as they pretended to be zombies.
Unfortunately, Snooki's combined scores were not enough to keep her in the competition, and the reality television star bid a tearful farewell on Monday.
Bursting into tears, the 25-year-old was clearly shocked by viewer's votes which resulted in her elimination, and she smeared her zombie makeup in a fit of crying.
"I can't even talk right now," she later explained, looking emotional. "I love everybody here, so it sucks."
The ball room saw an awkward moment when Snooki was unable to stop hugging fellow contestants and talk to the judges, and the camera panned to other contenders such as comedian Bill Engvall who was also crying.
"Look at the faces of the people left behind," the show's host Tom Bergeron said. "This is the hard part of the season when everybody is loved and we're going to miss you here, we really are."
However, Snooki rallied her humor during the episode, joking, "Why am I leaving [as] a zombie?"
Then, barely able to hold back tears during post-show interviews, Snooki explained her surprise.
"I definitely didn't think I was going to go home yet and I'm not ready to go home," she said, according to Us Weekly. "This experience has been amazing. Sasha's amazing," before shedding more tears.
"I don't want to go," Polizzi added. "I just loved everybody on the show!"
Meanwhile, "Saved by the Bell" and "Showgirls" star Elizabeth Berkley took home the season's first perfect scores on Monday night.
"DWTS" airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
