Elton John Welcomes Baby No. 2
Elton John has welcomed another child into his family on Tuesday just as the singer's representative had denied reports of a new baby.
The "Rocket Man" singer and his longtime partner David Furnish announced the arrival of their second son on Friday.
Just one day earlier, John's rep denied that their second child had arrived; leading many to believe the singer was not expanding his family.
Alas, Elijah Joseph Furnish-John was born in Los Angeles via surrogate weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces on Friday, according to the baby's parents.
"Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable," said John and Furnish in a statement.
"The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way," the pair continued. "It is difficult to express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement."
John, 65, and Furnish, 50, got their first child Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Christmas Day in 2010.
Elton John is also scheduled to release his 31st album "The Diving Board" sometime in March.
Over the course of his 4-decade career, John has sold over 250 million records, making him one of the most successful artists of all time. The English singer is perhaps best known for his song "Candle in the Wind 1997" as well as the track "Tiny Dancer," among others.
The singer's baby arrives as many other Hollywood stars are preparing for parenthood.
Actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum and her husband, "Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum are expecting their first child later this year.
Moreover, "True Blood" star Evan Rachel Wood announced that she and husband Jamie Bell are also expecting a child.
Other pregnant A-listers include Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, and Britain's Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
