Eva Longoria Tops Forbes List With Tina Fey
Eva Longoria, star of “Desperate Housewives,” has been named the highest paid television actress by Forbes magazine.
Longoria, who also tied with comedian and actress Tina Fey for the coveted title, made $13 million between May 2010 and May 2011. Although the “Desperate Housewives” actress is known for her work on the television show, her endorsement deals with L’Oréal and LG helped increase her income.
Fey, who also made $13 million in the past year, made the Forbes list. Although she served as the star actress, producer and head writer on the show “30 Rock”, she also authored a book called “Bossypants.”
The autobiographical book sold $150,000 in its first month, according to The Daily News and recently sold its millionth copy.
Aside from the two women who tied at number one, Longoria’s fellow cast member Marcia Cross came in next on the list after raking in $10 million over the past year, according to Forbes. Mariska Hargitay, star of Law & Order, tied with Cross and also earned $10 million for appearing on the television show that drew in 53 million people in its first week, according to Forbes reports.
Another television actress earned $10 million in the past year after working on the CSI show. Marg Helgenberger made the list as an original cast member of CSI, although The Daily Mail reports that it will be her last season.
However, this year she earned $1 million more than yet another Desperate Housewives cast member who made the list, Terri Hatcher.
Hatcher tied with another member of the Housewives show, Felicity Huffman who made $9 million between May 2010 and May 2011. The ladies may have another place on the list next year, when the Desperate Housewives series is slated to end.
According to The Daily News, the September premiere of the eight season welcomed the lowest ratings in its history. The entire list of actresses who made the list can be found on Forbes.com.
