Fan Runs on Field at 2013 All-Star Game After 1,000 Retweets Dare (VIDEO)
During last night's All-Star game a fan ran on the field in the middle of the game after several Tweets encouraging him to do the stunt circulated across the Internet.
Known as @MasoneDylan on Twitter, the fan Tweeted before the game, "1000 RT's and ill run across the field.. #ASG #CitiField"
The initial Tweet occurred about 15 minutes prior to game time, and then six minutes later he reassured everyone, or maybe just himself, that he would do it.
"if i get 1000 RTs id really do it," he posted.
As the Retweets started to rack up on @MasoneDylan's Twitter account he began to feel nervous about what he just did.
"@TravisQuattrini i hope i dont get to 1k lmao," he Tweeted to a friend after getting 300 retweets in an hour.
His following Tweets were "this is gonna be terrible," "i hate all of you", and "should i really do this?"
The fan then became concerned with what his mother would think and started posted exchanges he had with her as she caught wind of what he was planning to do.
He told his mom he received the 1,000 Retweets he needed to which she replied, "Idc, you better not. I'm not kidding I don't want u getting hurt."
"ma stop yelling at me..." he posted. "Dylan it's not funny that a serious thing and u could get arrested if not worse please don't b ridiculous," she said to him.
"if i actually get on the field pray for me cause my moms gonna kill me," he Tweeted.
The Twitter user snuck down to field level and decided he was going to run to second base in the fifth inning.
He got out onto the field and then was promptly tackled by a security guard and carried off the field.
On air policy for ball games is that the camera never shows the person on the field so their action is not glorified. The offending person is usually shipped off to jail and banned from the ballpark.
