Final Fantasy XIII-2: Collector’s Edition Announced by Square Enix
Video game developer Square Enix announced the upcoming release of the “Final Fantasy XIII-2 Collector’s Edition” through a press release today.
“Square Enix, Inc, today announced a collector’s edition for Final Fantasy XIII-2,” said the release. “Final Fantasy XIII-2 is developed for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game entertainment system from Microsoft.”
The collector’s edition of the sequel to the original “Final Fantasy XIII” will be available in North America on Jan. 31, 2012.

The first installment of the series shipped 6.2 million units worldwide since its North American launch in March 2010.
Square Enix promises for an even greater game with the sequel.
“The sequel has evolved beyond its predecessor, with an extraordinary level design encouraging exploration, an enhanced battle system allowing players to command monsters and a variety of options that support multiple playthroughs,” the release added.
Game Stop, Amazon and Best Buy will carry the Collector’s Edition and sell it for $79.99. This version of the game features premium packaging and sports artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
It also boasts a four-disc original soundtrack and a collection of concept artwork.
The artwork contains material from the making of “Final Fantasy XIII-2,” along with a variety of never-before-seen illustrations including environments and more.
By pre-ordering the game, more incentives will be available for customers doing so at Game Stop retail locations.
“Receive an exclusive in-game item by preordering at GameStop e/retailers,” said GameStop in a press release.
Amazon offers an exclusive in-game Omega Boss Battle. Once the Omega Boss is defeated; the character joins the player’s party.
Best Buy will include a collectible hardcover book with their version that will be an original story tying the “Final Fantasy XIII” and “Final Fantasy XIII-2" events together.
