'Final Fantasy XV' Director Shares What's in Store for Fans

Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XV" has been one of the well-loved RPG video games to date. Since it was officially launched in November of last year, the game has slowly evolved from a mere spin-off into an expansive game with all the works. DLC episodes and online game modes, among others, are already on the way.

With all the changes taking place, game director Hajime Tabata shared in an interview with Gamespot some details on what is in store for the game and its fans. Tabata shared that his team is bent on improving the game even further by listening to its fans.

"A lot of the major criticisms was that they felt the story was lacking in certain aspects. So for us, we did our best to give back and supplement those areas where people felt it was lacking," said Tabata. "When those fans who were complaining about the story from the early days are now completely satisfied with the overall experience, that's the moment when we can say as a team that we're pleased with what we did for Final Fantasy XV," he added.

When it comes to the upcoming online mode, Tabata explained that they wanted the players to become really part of the story. With the idea of launching a multiplayer mode, the team eventually went one step further before arriving at an online mode. "Our approach was that we wanted to give back to our fan base, and we're seeing that support pay off," he went on to say.

Furthermore, Tabata shared that their next project will be "bigger and better," considering the lessons they had learned from "Final Fantasy XV."

Last month, Tabata said in an interview with IGN that the "Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition" may come to Nintendo Switch. He clarified, however, that will first have to think deep and consider the meaning and significance of taking the title to Nintendo's flagship console. He said that it will be a balance between what is the best move for his team and if the gamers will be willing to play it on the console.
