'Flip or Flop' Star Tarek El Moussa Shares Details on Bout With Cancer
For Tarek El Moussa, his bout with cancer was "one of the lowest points" of his life. Despite the pain that the horrific endeavor reminds him, he decided to flip things around and use his experience to inspire others.
The "Flip or Flop" star shared some harrowing details of what he had gone through in his fight with the "Big C." The real estate guru shared in an Instagram post some shocking details of his journey.
"NOT embarrassed to share!!! This was one of the absolute lowest points of my life!!," wrote Tarek. "After beating cancer twice I had a horrific back injury," he added. He also shared that he had lost a significant amount of weight because of the different kinds of medications he had taken.

"Over the course of 10 months I lost 50 pounds from all the pain meds which prevented me from wanting to eat and I was nauseous all the time. I remember those days," the 36-year-old TV host went on to say. Moreover, he also shared a photo that showed his pale skin and his frail-looking body. "I was 169 pounds!! My clothing didn't fit and it looks like I'm wearing drapes!" he continued.
Toward the end of his post, he explained that he shared the photo so that others may be inspired. He said that in the middle of his battle, he already wanted to quit. "Reminder everyone, anything is possible! You just have to believe!" he added.
ABC News reported that Tarek also faced and eventually beat testicular cancer back in 2013. This was on top of his bout with thyroid cancer. He is currently in remission for both illnesses.
Tarek and ex-wife Christina El Moussa are both moving on with their separate lives after a bitter breakup in May of 2016. Christina, for her part, shared in an interview with E!'s Daily Pop earlier this month that she is no longer looking to have more children in her new relationship with Doug Spedding.
"I got lucky — I have one of each. And I'm done," said the 34-year-old blonde who already has two kids with Tarek. She also shared that Doug already has six kids and that they are more than enough to handle.
