Flyleaf Releases Two New Songs Available for Free Download (LINKS)
Female-fronted Christian rock band Flyleaf just finished wrapping up their nationwide tour with Payable On Death (P.O.D.), and as a token of appreciation for all the people who came out to see them, they released two new songs for free download.
The tour was the second outing with new frontwoman Kristen May at the helm.
"If you're still upset about Lacey Sturm stepping down as vocalist of Flyleaf, get over it -because new frontwoman Kristen May is simply enthralling live. May is a powerhouse onstage and performs new and old songs with solid soul and force." reported Loudwire.com on her performance.
Flyleaf released free versions of two bonus tracks from their recent EP, Who We Are. You can download "Great Love" on AbsolutePunk here and "Cage On The Ground" on Blabbermouth here.
"Flyleaf were gripping from start to finish, whether it was watching May crowd surfing during 'Fully Alive' or bassist Pat Seals getting some major air with his high jumps throughout the set. P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval also made an appearance to sing their collaborative track 'Something Better," Total Assault said.
Flyleaf will be heading out to Australia and Russia to finish up their tour where they will be performing three brand new songs before going back into the studio to write and record their next album.
Who We Are is a 5-track EP that has three live songs from their latest release, New Horizons, including: "Call You Out," "Fire Fire," "Broken Wings," and a live version of the song, "Sorrow," from their first album.
The EP was also highly anticipated due to the one original track which they premiered the lyric video for a few weeks ago, "Something Better," featuring Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D.
The track is the band's first original song with May.
"Something Better" was produced by Howard Benson (Bon Jovi, My Chemical Romance, Seether) and features the vocals of Sandoval.
The song is a good fit for Flyleaf as they are about to hit the road with P.O.D. for a co-headlining nationwide tour going from July 13 and finishing up August 10.
The EP can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon, and GooglePlay, with the it also hitting stores in a special addition woodcut print, hand crafted by bassist Pat Seals.
