Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Galaxy Nexus vs. HTC Amaze and Galaxy S2
Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Nexus with the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and the company promises it to be Android’s best device to date.
However, the Galaxy Nexus smartphone will add to an already saturated market of impressive Android smartphones, such as the HTC Amaze and the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The Amaze and Galaxy S2’s T-Mobile versions sport many impressive specifications in terms of power.
Both smartphones have a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, but the Galaxy S2 only boasts a 1.2 GHz processor on Sprint and T-Mobile networks. The device had to upgrade to the Snapdragon processor in order to be compatible with T-Mobile’s 4G networks.
The Galaxy Nexus will have a 1.2 GHz processor that is not as powerful as the Amaze and Galaxy S2’s processors, but it is more powerful than the iPhone 4S’s 800 MHz processor.
T-Mobile’s Galaxy S2 also features an impressive 4.52-inch Super AMOLED screen, while the HTC Amaze has a 4.3-inch screen. The Galaxy Nexus outshines both of these Android-powered devices with a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display.
Both the Galaxy S2 and HTC Amaze carry 8-megapixel cameras capable of filming in 1080p HD, but the Galaxy Nexus will only have a 5-megapixel camera with 1080p video.
The Galaxy S2 and HTC Amaze run on Gingerbread, Android’s last operating system geared for smartphones. The Galaxy Nexus will debut Android’s new operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich.
