Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Available for Pre-Order Now
Tech website Clove.co.uk has begun taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which was unveiled at the "Samsung Mobile Unpacked: Google Episode" media event on Oct. 19.
The website has confirmed with Samsung that the Galaxy Nexus will release in the U.K. on Nov. 17.
However, no U.K. carriers have been specified.
Clove.co.uk has priced the 16 GB Galaxy Nexus at £515 for an unlocked phone, or $818 in U.S. dollars.
Samsung and Google representatives have confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus will release in November on Japan's NTT DoCoMo network and on the Verizon Wireless network in the U.S.
While no U.S. prices have been confirmed, sources believe that the Galaxy Nexus will sell for $299 on the Verizion network with a two-year contract.
Leaks of Verizon's inventory detail that the advertising period for the Galaxy Nexus is from Nov. 10, 2011 to June 10, 2012.
Commentators suggest that from this tip the Galaxy Nexus can be expected to release anytime after Nov. 10.
There is no information about when U.S. pre-orders will begin.
Verizon was unavailable for comment.
The Samsung homepage for the Galaxy Nexus offers an information form for customers to fill out and sign up for updates on the Galaxy Nexus.
The Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to run on the latest Android OS, 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
