Galaxy S5 Developer Edition Announced by Samsung
The Galaxy S5 developer edition was announced by Samsung earlier this week.
The regular version of the handset will be available through most carriers starting today, and Verizon will start carrying this developer version sometime in the near future.
The main differences between the models are that the developer edition features an easily unlockable bootloader. This allows users to tinker with it. Other than that all the specs are basically the same.

Verizon has not announced pricing or release date information at this time.
The Galaxy S5 price will drop to just $100 for those who purchase the handset from Target.
In order to access the deal, buyers must sign a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. The only catch with the deal is that those purchasing the device must trade in their current smartphone.
The smartphones have to be in good shape in order to be accepted in the promotion as they will need to power up and should have no broken components.
The deal is available today and will end on the 19th and all trade-ins will have to be done directly at the Target store in order to get the discount.
The Galaxy S5 will replace the S4 as Samsung's current flagship device and features what the company deems a "glam" design with a perforated back plate that shines in different lighting conditions. It will have full LTE coverage, Wi-Fi MIMO 802.11 to cut down buffering, and a download booster that will allow users to download 1GB worth of media in 30 seconds.
Samsung has also drastically improved the battery that now provides users with 10 hours of web surfing, 12 hours of video playback and offers a new Ultra Power Saving mode. This new mode can grant the user another 24 hours' worth of power if their phone is at 10 percent. It does this by only keeping necessary functions on and turning the screen to black and white.
