Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Specs Confirmed
The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite was finally confirmed by Samsung this week.
The company revealed new information in a press release regarding the device and also listed its specifications.
"Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Today introduced Galaxy Tab3 Lite (7"), combining the intuitive experience of the Galaxy Tab3 series with a slimmer, more portable desing," wrote the company. "Packed with enhanced features and services, the Galaxy Tab3 Lite (7") provides users a variety of ways to capture, view, listen, create, and share content with others without compromising value."
Specs on this new tablet include a 1.2GHz Dual-core processor, a 7-inch WSVGA display with 1024 x 600 resolution, Android 4.2, JellyBean, a 2 megapixel rear camera, a 3600mAh battery, a microSD slot, GPS+GLONASS and Accelerometer.
Samsung warns in the press release that any of these specs could change before the actual release of the device without notice.
The new tablet sports a slim, light-weight design with a smaller bezel that makes it easy to carry around in one hand. The battery in the tablet also allows it to be more portable so that users can watch up to 8 hours of video without charging the device.
The menu bar is situated in the device's bezel rather than on the screen in order to maximize the tablet's wide screen experience.
The Galaxy Tab Lite's camera comes with features such as Smile Shot which enables the camera to automatically shoot when a smile is detected, Shoot and Share that enables users to share images right after they are taken and Panorama Shot which lets users capture entire landscapes.
Samsung did not confirm an official release date or price, but the device might end up costing around $135, according to various sources. There will be both Wi-Fi only and 3G versions of the tablet.
