Gisele Bundchen Picture Sparks Parents' Debate Over Pierced Ears (PHOTO)

Gisele Bundchen is no stranger to sharing personal photos on social media, but this week's post ignited criticism from fellow parents.

A frequent Twitter and Instagram user, Bundchen often shares snapshots of her family, which includes her husband Tom Brady and their three children.

Similar to past posts, the supermodel shared a photo on Sunday of her 8-month-old daughter Vivian Lake on Instagram.

However, this time, Bundchen's baby girl donned gold stud-earrings worn in apparently pierced ears.

The photo opened the longstanding debate amongst parents about when it is best to allow children to get their ears pierced.

"Pierced ears showing on an ultrasound might be too soon," wrote one Twitter user. "Get over it! In many cultures, babies have earrings b4 going home from birth!"

Twitter user Allison wrote, "Gisele Bundchen taking crap over daughter's pierced ears? I dislike pierced ears on babies, but its been done for YEARS. She's not the 1st."

The tender photo also featured a make-up free Bundchen. The Victoria's Secret model is often captured sans makeup, and even earned praise for embracing a more natural look in the ad campaign for BLK DNM.

During the fashion shoot for the label, the 33-year-old model admonished photoshop, professional hairdressing and makeup, claiming that imperfections are beautiful.

"I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn't happen anymore [in fashion photographs]," Bundchen explained to Fashionista.com.

The Brazilian native went on to credit designer and photographer Johan Lindeberg for their collaboration on the adverts for BLK DMN that feature Bundchen au naturale.

"I love that feeling of, you know, we are women, we are so different, our imperfections are what make us unique and beautiful," added the model.

As one of the highest-paid models in the world, Bundchen's comments made waves with readers who have long lamented the rampant airbrushing and use of Photoshop in ads today.
