Halle Berry, Nahla France Move is Off: Judge Rejects Plea to Move Child to France

Halle Berry's request to move daughter Nahla to France to shield her from cameras has been rejected.

The judge in the case has decided to side with Nahla's father, male model Gabriel Aubry, who fiercely objected to his four year old daughter being taken so far away.

Berry had argued that she had become so concerned with photographers following her and her daughter around that it would pose a risk to her upbringing. She insisted that if she would be allowed to move Nahla from Los Angeles to France it would be in the interests of her young daughter.

France is the native country of Berry's current fiance Olivier Matinez, and is a country which has much stricter laws on how the paparazzi should conduct themselves.

Forty-six year old Berry had daughter Nahla with 36 year old Aubry before splitting up in 2010 after five years together as a couple.

That split led to a angry and bitter custody battle of Nahla, and the prolonged fight only was resolved with the help of a judge in 2011 when the former couple finally came to a custody agreement.

However, despite the custody agreement only being put in place last year, Berry made her official request to a judge on Friday that Nahla be allowed to move to France with her.

Berry told Extra about her custody battles with Aubry: "Our issues were never about fighting for [Nahla]. We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We needed a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I'm so happy we've arrived at that place."

However, she has insisted that the paparazzi in LA where she currently resides with Nahla are so aggressive that it poses a danger to her daughter Nahla. Photographers have been known to follow Nahla to her pre-school, and at one point resulted in a confrontation with Berry.
