'Hannibal' Season 3 Premiere News, Reviews: Non-Spoiler Reviews Offer Glimpses Into First 3 Episodes

The highly-anticipated return of NBC's hit psychological-horror TV drama series "Hannibal" is yet to take place this Thursday. However, a slew of reviews for the show's premiere and succeeding episodes offered some hints in what to expect in the early parts of Season 3. Here's what we heard:

Entertainment Weekly, one of the media outlets who were given the chance to preview the show's brand new season, said right off the bat that the season opener follows the titular character, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen), driving along the Paris streets one night on a motorbike. He's been seen stalking a professor of Italian literature with two apparent reasons in mind: "a new career and dinner."

"Antipasto," the title of the premiere, also featured different timelines of Bedelia's (Gillian Anderson) life. Digital Spy, who also published their review for Season 3, teased that the back-and-forth timeline scenes showed "the act of violence that has kept Bedelia bound uneasily to Hannibal for years." There are also glimpses pertaining to "the fate of a victim from last season."

The second episode, "Primavera," meanwhile tackled the characters who survived the bloody Season 2 finale.

"Like moth to flame, Will has only grown more obsessed with his former friend since being gutted (physically and emotionally) by him in last season's finale, and the feeling is more than mutual," Digital Spy said about Hugh Dancy's character.

The review from EW also points out the significance of the third episode titled "Secondo," which, according to the publication, is where the season formally takes off.

"The season's design takes shape in episode 3, as the accumulating murk coheres around a key line: 'Who among us doesn't want understanding and acceptance?'" the site teased.

Find out more of these intriguing events when "Hannibal" returns to NBC this Thursday, June 4, on NBC.
