Hot Dog Day Freebies List: Top Hot Dog Spots and Best Deals for National Hotdog Day on July 23

Today is officially National Hot Dog Day. To celebrate, a number of fast food chains have advertised special offers on the all American treat.

Have a love for hot dogs? Or perhaps there is just nothing in the fridge to make dinner with. Either way, skip the mess tonight and celebration Hot Dog Day with the rest of the nation. Some chain restaurants are offering specials on their famous dogs while the more local places are just hoping to bank on the day.

In need of a good deal? Sonic has announced that it will offer $1 6-inch All American or Chili Cheese dogs all day long on July 23rd. Select 7-11 locations have also advertised that they will give away free hotdogs to celebrate the day, but that deal may not be available nation wide. In order to get a free hot dog, customers may have to download an Internet app. The convenient store also has a standing deal offering two hotdogs and a Big Gulp for $2.99 with no download required.

Wienerschnitzel, another popular hot dog chain, does not appear to have any hot dog specials, but for those customers who plan to celebrate Hotdog day at the chain, the company currently offers 99 cent soft serve cones on Tuesdays at most locations.

Even without a good deal though, hotdogs are still good all by themselves. Hotdog fans may also choose to celebrate the day by hitting up a famous hotdog stand.

One of the most famous places to get a hot dog is Pink's located in Los Angeles, Calif. The store was opened in 1939 as a Mom and Pop shop but remains a popular hotdog staple. Show Dogs is a popular joint in San Diego and heading to Texas, Sammy's Wild Game Grill tops the list in Houston. On the East Coast, Spike's Junkyard Dogs was a favorite in Boston, Mass.
