Houston Father Shoots Teen After Daughter Who Snuck Him Into Bedroom Denies Knowing Him
A Houston man shot and killed a 17-year-old boy he found in his daughter's bedroom after the daughter said she didn't know him. However, the daughter has since admitted that she did know the young man and now two families are left devastated.
"I would like my baby back, but I know that's not possible," Zakia McCormick, mother of the victim, told KHOU News. "A call you know, I'm sorry. He didn't deserve to die like that."
Authorities say that 17-year-old Johran McCormick was visiting a 16-year-old girl who had snuck him into her bedroom. The girl's brother went into her room to say goodnight and saw two feet sticking out from under the bed; he immediately went to get his father. When the father walked in and asked questions, the girl denied knowing McCormick.

The father called 911, but he claims that he then argued with McCormick, who appeared as if he was going to grab something. The father then opened fire, and McCormick died before help could arrive. Now McCormick's family wants justice for their son, especially given that the girl later admitted that she did, in fact, know McCormick.
"I have never heard of the girl he was dating," Zakia told Click2Houston. "I didn't know he was dating anyone. I just don't understand why my son is gone. The man that killed him should have been arrested. It was murder, it was murder."
The father reportedly suffered a panic attack after the shooting and was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. Johran's family want him charged with murder and sentenced to life in prison, but so far no charges have been brought against him.
A grand jury will hear the case and determine whether charges should be brought against the shooter.
