HTC M4 and G2 Smartphone Specifications Leaked

Information on the specifications for two upcoming HTC smartphones leaked this week.

Both of these devices are expected to be unveiled after HTC announces the M7 smartphone on Feb. 19.

The first of these handsets is the HTC M4, which is a mid-range device that is a step down from the M7 in terms of specifications. The M4 comes with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 4.3-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and Android 4.1, JellyBean.

The second handset, the HTC G2, seems to be a notch below the M4 in terms of specs. The device comes with a 1.0GHz ARM Cortex processor, a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 512MB RAM, 4GB microSD slot, 5-megapixel rear camera, and Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The specs were leaked by Unwired View, who also stated that these two handsets will not be unveiled at this year's Mobile World Congress, but will debut at a much later date.

HTC sent out initiations last week to an event that will take place on Feb. 19, where the company might end up unveiling its new M7 smartphone.

The invitation reads "save the date" and takes place at 10 a.m. Feb. 19 in New York City. HTC did not reveal the purpose of the event, but it is safe to assume that those in attendance will get a first look at a new smartphone.

The HTC M7 is expected to be an extremely impressive device that features several industry firsts. HTC will also replace the One X with the M7, making it the new flagship device for the company.

These firsts include specs that rival and top away many of the handsets currently available in the market, such as a 4.7-inch display with a pixel density of 468ppi and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a second generation 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal flash storage, and LTE connectivity.
