HTC One Android 4.4, KitKat Update Now Available to AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon
The HTC One Android 4.4, KitKat update is now available to AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon.
HTC announced earlier this week that it had submitted the update to all four of these carriers and now it is up to them to begin issuing it to their customers.
The company says they should start rolling out next week, however, the releases will vary from carrier to carrier. All of those carriers were fairly quick with the update for the Moto X.
The HTC One successor could be launching soon and rumored specs for the device include dual-rear cameras.
A recently leaked photo of a case said to be for the back of the device shows two large cut outs that could be used for a lens and something else. One of the holes might be for a fingerprint sensor, however, the company's lack of success with the component on the HTC One Max would make going with something like a dual-lens a better idea.
A new report from Bloomberg backs this notion by citing a person with direct knowledge of the HTC One successor. The publication claims that the new model will debut in March and will come with a twin-rear sensor camera. This will give the camera better focus and depth of field and image quality.
HTC has not confirmed any information on the HTC One successor at this time, so all this should be taken with a grain of salt.
Other specs and the official name for the device were confirmed in previous news.
An XDA member named Mike1986 revealed that the new smartphone will be named the HTC One+ and will feature the latest Snapdragon 805 CPU. The news contradicts some of the earlier reports which have stated that this processor will not debut until later in 2014.
