HTC One Release on Verizon Canceled

The HTC One release on Verizon was canceled this week as the smartphone maker confirmed on its Twitter account that the carrier would not be offering the smartphone.

"The HTC One will not be available on the Verizon network, but have you seen the awesome #DROIDDNA?," tweeted HTC.

The other three major U.S. carriers will all offer the HTC One including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. However, the release date for the device was pushed back due to issues with components.

To be more specific, the delay is due to a production issue the company is having with ultrapixel camera components, Focus Taiwan reported last week. HTC is also having problems with the voice coil motor, according to an earlier report.

The smartphone maker now plans to ship just 1 million units of the HTC One in the next two months due to the shortage. HTC might also push the actual release date back in order to have the right supply ready for that day and meet the demand without any unsatisfied customers.

The company gave the public a first look at the One, which comes with top-of-the-line specs and new exclusive HTC features such a Blinkfeed, HTC Zoe, and BoomSound last month.

Specifications for the HTC One include a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, a 2300 mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE and some major improvements made to the camera specs. The smartphone will be available in both 32GB and 64GB versions and will come in silver and black variants.

It also comes with an 8-megapixel "Ultrapixels" camera that brings major improvements to low-light performance and optical image stabilization. The shooter provides "enhanced 360" panorama, time sequencing, and object removal along with an ultra-wide angle front-facing camera with 1080p capture
