HTC One to Launch at the Same Time as Galaxy S4

The HTC One release was recently pushed back by the company to late April, according to an announcement made by the company.

"HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April," said HTC this week.

"We appreciate our customers' patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that is has been worth that wait," the company added in a statement.

HTC will now go head to head with the Galaxy S4, which will also be released in late April in the U.S. Both devices feature state-of-the-art hardware and make for a good first smartphone match-up for 2013.

If marketed correctly, the HTC One could steal some of the Galaxy S4's spotlight. The company recently stated that it was going to change its strategy altogether for its products taking on a more aggressive marketing approach. Part of this plan was to directly challenge its biggest competitors such as Samsung and Apple.

Samsung made a name for the Galaxy S2 and S3 smartphones by creating ads that went directly against Apple's iPhone. HTC appears to be taking pointers from its greatest competitor.

HTC will lose out on getting its head start against Samsung, as the company was originally expected to launch the One smartphone this month. The original reasoning behind HTC pushing the release back was issues with components leading to the company not being able to produce them fast enough.

However, HTC could also be delaying in order to place more attention on the phone by directly challenging Samsung.
