Huawei Nexus Specs News: To Feature 5.7-Inch Display, Fingerprint Sensor
The upcoming Nexus smartphone from Google would be the seventh version since HTC launched Nexus One, almost a decade ago. Now, it seems Google wants to join the duo trend with the announcement of two Nexus smartphones, instead of just one.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the upcoming devices would be developed and designed by two companies, LG and Huawei respectively. Rumors claim that the first handset will be called the LG Nexus, which is pretty obvious, considering that the Korean brand has manufactured a number of previous Nexus devices.
In addition, the second handset would be a phablet would allegedly be called the Huawei Nexus.
In the report, a post from Twitter allegedly revealed the devices' specs, to the delight of Android vanilla fans. The LG Nexus would reportedly sport a 5.2-inch display, front facing speakers, a USB Type-C port, and a fingerprint scanner. Based on the alleged specs, the smartphone's dimensions will be 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm. The last number pertains to thickness, and this could mean a slightly bulky Nexus handset from LG.
Meanwhile, the bigger Nexus device from Huawei is said to sport a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, but get a bigger 5.7-inch display. There is also a fingerprint scanner, front facing cameras, and a USB Type C port. Dimensions for the Huawei Nexus is mentioned at 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6/8.5mm, which is pretty strange considering its size. Still, this should remind everyone that these numbers are mere rumors, and no official announcements have been made just yet.
As for the LG Nexus, rumors claim that it would only pack a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screen, and paired with a powerful yet unknown chipset, based on previous reports. On the other hand, the Huawei Nexus is expected to pack the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm.
