Hugh Grant Evil in Cloud Atlas, Destroys Chick Flick Image
Hugh Grant has decided to step away from his usual role starring in romatic comedies, and will play an altogether different persona in his upcoming film "Cloud Atlas," where he actually plays six different characters alongside Tom Hanks and Halle Berry.
The actor, who is better know for movies like "Bridget Jones Diary" and "Two Weeks Notice" has decided to take on a less charming role, or according to him six less charming roles in one movie. "I have six cameo parts in this strange, ambitious film. I do a lot of killing and raping. I wear an awful lot of prosthetic make up, too." Grant told Empire magazine.
The movie takes after a book of the same name. It is directed by Tom Tyker and Lana and Andrew Paul Wachowski. "You probably won't know that I am in the film!" Grant joked about his unrecognizable role. "But it was a laugh. I thought before I read it that I'd turn it down, which I normally do, but I was interested in meeting the Wachowskis because I have always admired them enormously. And they are so charming and fascinating."

Grant, who himself is famed for his more charming character casts, also revealed that he had a hard time adapting to the new roles, which he considered "incredibly evil."
"I slightly called my own bluff. In one of the parts I am a cannibal, about 2000 years in the future, and I thought, 'I can do that. It's easy.," Grant said. "And then I am suddenly standing in a cannibal skirt on a mountaintop in Germany and they are saying, 'You know, hungry! We must have that flesh-eating, like a leopard who is so hungry...' and I am thinking, 'I can't do that! Just give me a witty line!'"
The film will also star Tom Hanks and Halle Berry. It is set to release in October and has been classified as a mix of both Sci-Fi and historical fiction.
