'Hustler' Porn Publisher Flynt Offers Weiner Job
The porn publisher of Hustler Magazine, Larry Flynt, has offered a job to former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner, reports have said Thursday.
The job offer came just hours after Weiner resigned Thursday following the “Sexting scandal”.
The job offer was made in “The Huffington Post”, and Flynt quickly moved to say, “This offer is not made in jest.”
Flynt added: “Just as we do not undertake insincere political crusades, we do not make insincere job offers.”
The job offer from the porn publisher proposed to give Weiner a 20 percent pay increase from his salary as a Congressman, as well as matching any medical benefits he had in his previous office.
Furthermore, even Weiner’s moving costs to California would be covered by Flynt.
Flynt wrote: “While this employment opportunity is being offered in large part due to your qualifications and clear passion for making a change. I feel that your unfortunate resignation is a prime example of unfounded political pressure and the hypocrisy that has invaded democracy in Washington, D.C.”
This is not Flynt’s first attempt at hiring disgraced political figures. In 2010 Republican Carl Paladino was also offered a job from Flynt following scandals revolving around circulating pornographic images.
Flynt’s job offer to Paladino, however, took a more mocking tone: “He is a natural pornographer who has a skilled eye for unusual views and acrobatics ... It's clear he's better suited to join our team than be the governor of the state of New York.”
Weiner has not been available to comment on the job offer.
