iOS 10.3 Beta 3 News: Apple Seeds New Version With App Compatibility Program

Apple just released the third beta version of the iOS 10.3 that includes the App Compatibility program.

The Cupertino-based technology giant started seeding the latest version of beta iOS 10.3 on Monday morning. Eligible app developers can now download the newest beta through the Apple Developer Center.

Reports now have it that among other things, the latest addition in the third beta version of iOS 10.3 is the App Compatibility section. It is probably one of the most helpful features to be included in the beta of the iOS 10.3 especially for app developers. As explained by Mac Rumors, the App Compatibility will let developers know which applications badly need updating and may not work in future iOS versions.

For developers testing the iOS 10.3 beta 3, App Compatibility can be accessed through Settings. From there, they will have to open the "General" option and then choose "About." Developers will just have to tap on an iOS app and the feature will tell them when it was last updated.

On apps that need to be updated, the App Compatibility program will flash a prompt message that says: "This app will not work with future versions of iOS. The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility."

Meanwhile, 9To5Mac also reported several additions that they have already discovered in the iOS 10.3 beta 3 so far. These include: the addition of Find My AirPods in the Find My iPhone app; Siri's ability to report cricket game updates from the Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council; a new Apple File System; a new widget for the Podcasts app similar to the Music app; the Reduced Motion support in the Safari app; and a new "quick access" option for the CarPlay app that will let users switch among recently used apps without having to go back to the Home screen.

Apple has yet to announce the release date for the finalized version of iOS 10.3.
