iPad 3 Release Date Leaked by Amazon for March 29
Amazon's French division has reportedly revealed the expected release date of Apple's upcoming iPad 3.
Amazon France has recently added two iPad 3 self-help books to its catalog. The books, titled Ipad 3 pour les nuls (iPad 3 for Dummies) and Auf die Schnelle iPad 3 (iPad 3 in a Hurry or iPad 3 on the Fly), will be sold to owners of the next iPad device. What's most interesting about these books is the release date that they will both release on, which points to the iPad 3's release date.
The iPad 3 For Dummies book is slated for a Mar. 29, 2012 release date, according to Amazon France. This date falls in line with previous rumors that point to a March retail debut for Apple's next tablet device.
"Apple Inc. (AAPL)'s next iPad, expected to go on sale in March, will sport a high-definition screen, run a faster processor and work with next-generation wireless networks, according to three people familiar with the product," Bloomberg stated.
Bloomberg's sources have previously reported that Apple and its partners have planned to reach full volumes by February.
Rumors about a new iPad have been reported since last December. This new release date rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, however.
In the past, Amazon France pre-announced Apple products through book sales and not all of them were entirely accurate. U.K. website, The Register, noted that Amazon France offered iLife '10 pour les nuls with a release date of Sept. 23, 2010. The book was never released, though.
The first iPad released on Apr. 3, 2010. This date came months before the book being offered by Amazon France.
Another iPad rumor that has become prevalent is Apple releasing an iPad 4 model in October 2012. Two iPad devices may be in Apple consumers' hands by year's end.
Amazon is still competing with Apple when it comes to both respective company's tablets. Apple's iPad devices and Amazon's Kindle Fire are still vying for the top spot in the tablet market.
