iPad Air 3 Specs: No New iPad Air This Year?
Together with the iPhone, the iPad is considered to be among the most popular devices from tech giant Apple. Last year, the manufacturer surprised the world when it redesigned the iPad Air 2, making it more like an enlarged iPad mini, while also trimming its waistline.
As a result, the iPad Air 2 has performed excellently in terms of sales, beating its smaller sibling in the iPad mini 3.
However, a new report claims that Apple could be sticking with this model until the end of the year.

Digital media news company DigiTimes claims that there will be no iPad Air 3 this year amidst the slowing demand for tablets and other computing devices that are larger than smartphones. Looking back a couple of months ago, Apple did change its schedule in releasing the MacBook 2015 as well as better editions of the MacBook Air and Pro laptops.
DigiTimes pointed out that there is a demand for devices that are smaller than the smartphone, which include wearables, automotive-related devices.
In addition, the news site said that the upcoming iPad mini 4 would not get as much upgrade as it did a year ago, which was almost nothing. The only hardware difference between the iPad mini 2 and mini 3 was the fingerprint sensor embedded on the Touch ID home button. DigiTimes believes this will also be the case for the fourth iPad mini this year.
In spite the rumors, it is still possible that there would be an iPad Air 3 by the end of the year, and the iPad mini 4 will be much better than its two earlier predecessors. DigiTimes has not been entirely accurate in its recent rumors, predictions and speculations.
It is also interesting to note that the news site did not mention anything about the rumored iPad Pro that allegedly packs a 12.9-inch Retina display.
