iPads Now Available for $279.99 on Apple's Website
Apple is now offering iPads for discounted prices on its website.
The sale includes the 16GB Wi-Fi original Apple iPad now priced at just $279.
The company is also dropping prices on the second generation iPad with the base price of the tablet being just $319, down $30 from its original tag.
The higher capacity models also received a discount dropping another $50 from the price they were at when the third-generation model launched back in March of this year.
The reason behind the discounting of the iPads could be due to the company's move to a "new iPad 2" with increased battery life thanks to its more efficient processor that could be worth more than a $50 premium.
The third-generation Apple tablet dubbed "the new iPad," allowed the company to begin to push its previous models in order to compete with the low-end tablet market that includes top sellers such as the Barnes and Noble Nook and the Amazon Kindle Fire that retail at $199 and $249.
