iPhone 5 Release Date: Apple Smartphone Could Become Illegal in Europe
Yesterday, it was reported that Samsung has launched an attempt to ban Apple's iPhone 5 in South Korea. Now the Maeil Business Newspaper reports that the Korean Electronics Giant may try to block the iPhone 5 in Europe as well.
The effort to ban the iPhone 5 is in retaliation to Apple’s copycat claims, commentators have suggested recently.
Apple has already won an injunction which makes it illegal for Samsung to sell its Galaxy Tab tablets in some regions. The two firms have been locked in legal war in nine countries over patents.
A Samsung executive told The Korea Times, "We are taking different tactics since we are quite confident. If Samsung wins in Germany that will give us a big breakthrough and so will other envisioned efforts against such products as the iPhone 5."
In retaliation to Apple's lawsuits against the Korean electronics company, the latter has also filed a new lawsuit over wireless patent infringement in Australia regarding seven patents in Apple's Iphone 3G, Iphone 3GS, Iphone 4 and Ipad 2.
