iPhone 5 Release Date: T-Mobile Customers Will Not Get Phone This Year
The iPhone 5 will not be available to T-mobile customers this year, according to a leaked document from T-Mobile’s OneVoice Intranet.
Cole Brodman, T-Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer is reported to have said that T-Mobile will not be getting the iPhone 5 this year in an appearance at a recent Town Hall at Field Service Center.
Whether the carrier will eventually get the iPhone 5 in 2012 remains unclear.
However, Brodman also mentioned that two new smartphones will be launched through the network before the holidays.
One is reported to be the Qualcomm-powered Galaxy S II variant and the other is unknown.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 5 is rumored to hit the shelves through other carriers in mid-October.
The next generation iPhone is expected to include an 8 megapixel camera along with a redesigned shape and wireless charging.
The device was rumored to return to the thin tapered exterior shape of the iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS which would allow for an increase in screen size.
The iPhone 4 sports a screen of 3.5 inches while some Android devices have screens sizes of about four inches.
Some upcoming Android devices will come with screens that are 4.5 inches.
