An unnamed source at Apple has reported that the company will be unveiling the new iPhone 5 in just a few weeks.

With rumors circling the internet pointing to a brand new design for the smartphone, the buzz for the new device seems to be at an all time high.

The next generation iPhone is rumored to be available in early October with pre-orders starting in late September.

The insider at Apple seems to confirm these rumors.

More case images made it to the internet earlier this week which once again point to a thin tapered design for the new iPhone.

The Case-Mate produced accessories seem like they are designed for a smartphone closer-looking to the iPhone 3GS, which is the direction Apple is rumored to be moving in with the iPhone 5.

The insider who reported that Apple was only weeks away from unveiling the new iPhone, also claims that Case-Mate’s images are not too far away from what the smartphone will look like.

Other recent rumors point to the new iPhone looking more like the iPhone 4.

Tech website 9to5 Mac recently reported that we may not see a next generation iPhone until sometime in 2012.

Although the insider claims differently, Apple may demo the new device without actually releasing it officially.

There is also a strong possibility that network service providers like Sprint and T-Mobile may be releasing the iPhone 4 for their subscribers on the rumored iPhone 5 release dates.

9to5 Mac reported that manufacturers who work for Apple are producing two different styles of iPhone, including a pre-paid version of the iPhone 4, and a next generation iPhone 5 which may not be released until 2012.

This iPhone 5 is said to be designed radically different from the iPhone 4.
