iPhone 5 Release Date: Artists Create New Design Concepts
The iPhone 5 is expected to debut in 2012, according to analysts, and some graphic artists have even created design concepts for the new device.
Antonio de Rosa made a design for the upcoming iPhone 5, based upon leaked specifics and schematics.
The smartphone touts a 4.3-inch screen in his design concept. The larger screen allows the iPhone to compete with Android devices that already sport a huge display, such as the Galaxy Nexus and its 4.65-inch screen.
The iPhone 5 will reportedly have a 4-inch screen, but de Rosa added an extra 0.3-inches.
The updated iPhone will reportedly feature a capacitive home button, and Samsung recently revealed that it is producing chips that will upgrade the iPhone to a quad-core.
Gizmocrunch, a technology website, said the smartphone will have a more “futuristic” look. The website also believes the larger screen will become a new standard for the smartphone world.
This is not the first time design concepts were drawn based upon iPhone 5 specification rumors.
Another designer drew concepts in July similar to de Rosa’s using iPhone 5 schematics leaked by case manufacturers.
A circulating teardrop design of the iPhone is reportedly based upon a prototype that was lost in China earlier this year
Many analysts expect Apple to launch a 4G-ready iPhone in 2012 that is drastically redesigned. However, Apple has confirmed no official information.
