iPhone 5 Release Date: New Siri Hack Allows Mind Control? (VIDEOS)
A pair of savvy tech developers created an application that lets users' utilize their thoughts to make phone calls on the iPhone 4S.
The application takes the iPhone 4S and makes it collect brain wave patterns from some simple ECG pads. The brain patterns are then translated into synthesized speech audio.
The audio can be heard through the iPhone 4S's 3.5-mm headphone jack. The voice control-enabled command app works with the application successfully.
One of the videos below show the Siri hack displaying how the users can make a phone call. The individuals within the video said they linked approximately 25 brain wave patterns to various Siri-controlled functions.
Technology that uses the brain to handle smartphone functions could possibly become a potential feature for the iPhone 5.
March 2012 is pegged as the official launch of Apple's iPad 3, so simultaneously launching another device might disrupt sales.
The iPhone 5 is rumored to come equipped with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. The iPhone 5 may also feature a screen size that ranges from 3.7 to 4-inches. An 8-megapixel dual flash camera is said to be equipped with the device, as well.
A rumored iPhone model with LTE technology is also said to arrive in 2012 for Sprint. Some said this LTE-powered device could be an improved iPhone 4S or the new iPhone 5.
