Jaden Smith Receives Backlash After Condoning Quitting School
Jaden Smith, the 15-year-old actor and son to Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, recently revealed that he did not value the school system.
All the rules in this world were made by someone no smarter than you," Smith began his rant tweeting. "So Make Your Own."
The budding actor and rapper continued by speaking about his views on school.
"School is the tool to brainwash the youth," he wrote on the social networking website. "Education is rebellion."
He then shifted his thoughts to what the world would be like if everybody quit going to school.
"If everybody in the world dropped out of school we would have a much more intelligent society," the young smith tweeted.
He continued by making hypothetical statements about the intelligence of mankind.
"If newborn babies could speak they would be the most intelligent beings on planet earth," he tweeted.
After Smith's comments began to circulate, a number of people took to Twitter to disagree or poke fun of them.
"Wait, now you're sending mixed messages. Please clarify your position on education before I do something I regret. @officialjaden," one person tweeted.
Another person seemed to take things a step further when sounding off on Smith's rant.
"Jaden Smith is the latest on http://DumbestTweets.com. Go see why," the person tweeted. "Also, no young sir. Go sit down."
Yet another person questioned if the budding Smith's position on education had anything to do with his father and actor Will Smith's alleged Scientology religious practices.
"Jaden smith, aka what scientology does to kids," the person tweeted.
While Smith did not respond to the backlash that he received for his positions on education and intelligence in society, his parents have previously spoken about their style of parenting that may seem unorthodox to some.
"We don't do punishment. The way that we deal with our kids is, they are responsible for their lives," the Smith patriarch previously told Metro. "So when they do things-and you know, Jaden, he's done things-you can do anything you want as long as you can explain to me why that was the right thing to do for your life."
