Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz stirred speculation over the nature of their friendship after being spotted out together this week.
The "Bad Teacher" co-stars each have storied pasts of dating in Hollywood, but it seems as though their "dinner date" in East Hampton, New York on Tuesday was simply friendly.
"Jason and Cameron were not romantic at all towards each other, very casual and friendly," said an onlooker, according to E! News.

Furthermore, a third friend joined Segel and Diaz at the upscale eatery Nick & Toni's during Tuesday's friendly meal.
Although they are not dating, Segel and Diaz will co-star once again in the upcoming comedy "Sex Tape."
Speaking about his role last month, Segel revealed how he lost weight in order to feel good about certain scenes in the film.
"I've just been living healthy, exercising, eating right- no more midnight pizzas," said Segal speaking to Us Weekly. "This time when I take my shirt off, I've made a promise to myself, it doesn't have to be funny."
Continuing to discuss his slimmed-down appearance, Segal explained that his role in 2008's "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" took a toll on him.
"I took heat for 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall,' where I was completely nude," said the actor, according to Us Weekly. "But different characters require different body types."
Segal also hinted that "Sex Tape" might contain similar risqué scenes.
"It is R-rated, and I'm not in shape for no reason," he added. The film hits on July 2, 2014.
Meanwhile, Segal is also busy wrapping up the ninth and final season of CBS's hit show "How I Met Your Mother."
"My favorite moments have just been watching my cast mates grow up," he said of "HIMYM" actors such as Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, among others.
The last season of the comedy begins on CBS on Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
