Jay Mohr Apologizes to Alyssa Milano for 'Fat Shaming'
Jay Mohr issued an apology via Twitter to Alyssa Milano after poking fun at the actress' post-baby weight recently.
Just weeks ago, Milano attended the NASCAR Spring Cup Series Awards gala which Mohr hosted in Las Vegas.
The comedian mentioned Milano's appearance during a radio interview, referring to the star's "gut" as well as Spandex.
Clearing up the controversy, Mohr explained his comment was strictly non-serious.
"She's stunning," he wrote on Twitter. "I mistakenly though the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail"
Ahead of his apology to her, the "Mistresses" star responded to Mohr's jab via Twitter.
"@JayMohr so sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me," Milano posted. "Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife."
Furthermore, Milano thanked her loyal fans that rallied behind her.
"You're all lovely," she wrote. "Thank you for your kind words. #Appreciative"
Meanwhile, Mohr's comments during the radio interview included suggesting Milano had given up on her looks after welcoming her son.
"She's very tiny, in height… It seems like she had had a baby and said, 'I don't really give a s---,' I read it on her gut," he said.
"Somebody sat in the director's chair was not Spanx and I was like 'Jesus Christ,'" Mohr added.
Milano is the mother of two-year-old Milo whom she shares with her husband Dave Bugliari.
Alternately, Mohr is married to Nikki Cox, and they also welcomed a son in 2011.
Nevertheless, Mohr's comments about Milano are not the only jabs to land him in hot water. The actor also took a swing at Danica Patrick during the NASCAR Spring Cup Series Awards gala last month when the NASCAR driver shot him a menacing look.
However, Patrick later tweeted that she thought he was "really good, all the jokes, seriously!"
