Jay-Z Kanye Copyright Case Settled: New Father Moves on With Concert

Beyonce and Jay-Z spent Sunday in New York City to support fellow R&B singer, The-Dream. Jay-Z, who also has plans to do a live online concert Monday night, has just settled a recent lawsuit with Kanye West for copyright infringement.

The Dream- known formally as Terius Youngdell Nash- is a singer-songwriter and record producer. He has also co-written songs with Rihanna and Beyonce. During his Sunday night concert, he thanked the crowd for showing and also threw in a personal shout out to Beyonce and Jay-Z.

"I know some of ya'll got kids at home," he said.

Jay-Z and Kanye West recently settled a lawsuit that was filed against them citing copyright infringement. Reports state that West had sought out a music sample by Syl Johnson. Johnson had failed to reach terms with West regarding the song's use before Watch the Throne was released. The album is a collaboration with both West and Jay-Z.

Johnson cited that one song on the album, "Joy" featured his music sample. The case was settled, however, with little information released to the public.

With legal troubles out of the way, Jay-Z now has plans for his own online concert Monday night. The rapper singer will be one of many contributors to perform for the Amex Sync Show.

The show is to begin streaming live at 8 p.m. and will allow Twitter users to request songs via Amex's Twitter page. The concert will also be available on demand March 13-19th.

The event will also be screened in the streets of Austin, Texas to kick off the SXSW Music Conference and Festival.

"The presence of such major headliners may seem to belie the indie spirit the event has represented for more than 20 years, showcasing emerging talents," Yahoo reported. "But it also indicates the magnitude of the event and changes in the music industry with these artists choosing to launch new albums here for the 45,000 gathered at various venues."
