Jessica Simpson Struggling With Weight Loss, 'Stressed' and 'Crying'
Jessica Simpson is reportedly struggling to lose her baby weight for her upcoming Weight Watchers campaign and has become emotionally fragile since giving birth to her first child.
Simpson, who gave birth to her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1st, is being paid $4 million to lose approximately 50 pounds in five months, which understandably requires a strict diet and frequent exercise. The 30-year-old is said to be "stressed and overwhelmed," according to In Touch Magazine.
"She's so emotional," a friend told In Touch. "She doesn't want to go to the gym. She doesn't want to leave her baby. Sometimes she just starts crying. It's hard for her."
The singer's weight reportedly reached a reported 210 pounds during the height of her pregnancy, and she is already said to be physically exhausted with the task of trying to reach her goal weight of 130 pounds.
"She's consumed with the new baby," another source told the magazine. "She and Eric are often up with Maxi (Maxwell) all night."
Simpson, who is currently engaged to the father of her baby Eric Johnson, previously enjoyed a more carefree diet during her pregnancy which reportedly included mac and cheese, fried chicken, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Now the "Fashion Star" judge has been forced to drastically improve her diet and she is consuming much healthier options, including oatmeal with berries for breakfast, grilled chicken on salad for lunch, hummus, carrots and fresh fruit for snacks and salmon, broccoli and brown rice for dinner.
"She gets so upset. She wants her body back so badly, but it's beyond hard," the source explained. "She'll have the occasional slice of pizza. If she feels deprived, it won't last."
Baby Maxwell is said to be playing a huge role in Simpson staying motivated to shed the pounds.
"Jessica wants to set a good example for Maxi," an insider told In Touch adding that "She wants to teach her daughter to have a healthy lifestyle."
