Jill Duggar's Husband Derick Dillard a 'Good Kisser,' New Bride Says
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard exchanged vows over the weekend and shared the all-important first kiss. The couple had been famously abstinent from any physical contact except for side-hugs, but now Duggar says that her husband is a "great kisser" and she has never been happier with life.
"The day was amazing," Duggar told People.
"I thought about it and decided to dip her," Dillard told E! News.
"He's a great kisser!" Jill added. "All his trumpet playing paid off!"
Before the wedding, Duggar and Dillard made the decision not to engage in any physical contact except for side-hugs. They never even held hands before the big day; it was a decision they were both happy with and fully supported by their families.
"This isn't a new concept," dad Jim Bob told ABC. "This is the way that everybody used to do it 50 years ago, and we're reverting back to how they used to do with more family interaction, less teen pregnancy and when the divorce rate was a lot lower … Michelle and I are really grateful that they have chosen to set high standards."
For the big day, Duggar wore a princess dress that easily converted from a strapless to a "modest, yet elegant" gown, boutique owner Wendy Rivera told People. The gown was from Ava Laurenne Bride in Fredericksburg, Virginia – a full-length gown that had plenty of Swarovski crystals and a chapel-length train.
"She wanted something modest, but not predictable. It fits like a glove. It is perfection," she added.
Duggar's 4-year-old sister Josie definitely wanted to wear her own fancy dress, as she was one of Jill's flower girls.
"She got on her princess dress finally," Michelle said. "She has been begging to put it on since she got it. That is the most awesome princess dress ever."
The couple is now on a honeymoon away from the spotlight, at a location no one knows just yet.
