Jordan Dunks at 50: MJ Soars at Flight School Basketball Camp (PHOTO)
Jordan dunked at 50, surprising and amazing the kids at his Michael Jordan Flight School basketball youth camp Saturday. Though Jordan primarily spends his time as owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, His Airness proved he could still get up and slam it down.
Jordan's dunk at 50 showed that he still has it, even after his last birthday in February. Furthermore, he wasn't wearing the traditional jerseys of his past as the dominating champion of the Chicago Bulls in the '90s- MJ wore jeans while leaping nearly two feet in the air.
Even Jordan, who is widely celebrated as the best basketball player of all time- he has six NBA championships, five MVP awards, 10 scoring champion titles, and won two slam dunk contests- couldn't get the attention of everyone. In the widely circulated Twitter picture of His Airness slamming it down, some of the kids in the background had their backs turned or were seemingly unimpressed.
One person pointed out that some of the youth at the school, which is hosted at the University of California in Santa Barbara, Calif., might not be aware of all of Jordan's accomplishments.
"That kid with his back turned probably wasn't even born when MJ played," one user said on the ProBasketballTalk NBC Sports blog. Others were very impressed.
"Man… He could still play a few mins if he wanted to…. It's Jordan," another person commented on the ESPN blog.
Jordan has also been enjoying his new wife, Yvette Prieto, and latest mansion he purchased in Cornelius, N.C. to be close to his team, the Charlotte Bobcats. Prieto, a 34-year-old Cuban-American model, had been dating Jordan for five years before they tied the knot at Palm Beach in April.
Just a few months prior in February, the prolific basketball team owner bought a $2.8 million estate that comes with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a pool, spa, a multi-level patio and its own private dock.
