Josh and Anna Duggar Welcome New Son
Josh and Anna Duggar welcomed their third child, another baby boy, on Sunday. The newest Duggar baby joins his big sister Mackynzie and brother Michael, and will be featured on a special episode of "19 Kids and Counting."
Baby Marcus Anthony entered the world on Sunday morning, weighing a healthy 9 lbs., 3 oz. Big sister Mackynzie is almost 4-years-old, while brother Michael will turn 2 this month.
"We are so thankful that mom and baby are well! We are blessed to have our family close as we celebrate this gift from God," the couple told People magazine. Their older children are "thrilled to welcome a little brother" into the family.
Of course, the Duggar family is known for being quite large, and it appears that Josh and Anna are continuing on the tradition. The two married in 2008 and welcomed Mackynzie just one year later. Josh and Anna, as well as their larger family, are devoted Christians who pledged to accept however many children God chooses to give them.
"When we let God control every area of our lives, He will give us awesome new opportunities to glorify Him! Our goal in life is to share of the hope that we have in Christ and to use whatever platform He has given us to do so," the couple writes on their website.
Josh and Anna's wedding and courtship was featured on the reality series "19 Kids & Counting," which has grown in popularity across the nation. The family recently traveled to Japan and was a big hit with the country. Family members frequently travel as part of mission work, but this was one of the few instances in which the entire family traveled together.
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar are the family's patriarchs and have emphasized a close-knit family. The story of their larger-than-life family has been a hit for TLC, and the two are thrilled with the birth of their newest grandchild.
You can watch Marcus' birth on a TLC special, "19 Kids & Counting: GrandDuggar Makes 3!" which airs Sunday, June 16, at 8:00 p.m. EST.
