Justin Bieber 'Baby Mama' Not Hiding, Lawyers Say
Mariah Yeater, 20, will take a DNA test to prove that her son was fathered by Justin Bieber.
Justin Bieber’s team admitted that the singer took the DNA test late last week, yet reports surfaced that Yeater was nowhere to be found to test the baby and end the debacle.
However Jeffrey Leving, Yeater’s lawyer, said his client was not hiding. The 20-year-old accuser who alleges that she is the mother of Bieber’s child will take a test to prove her claims true.
The lawyer told TMZ that his team had been in contact with Bieber’s on Monday and Tuesday, despite the claims that Yeater had gone into hiding.
Although Leving told TMZ that Yeater had no problem with her baby, Tristyn, undergoing testing he did say the team had issues with Bieber’s team. The lawyer said Bieber should have been under closer scrutiny while taking the test, and a member of Yeater’s team should have been present.
Depending on the results, Bieber said he is looking to sue the woman who has been speaking out about him in the media for months. However, the 17-year-old crooner is not looking for monetary gain.
A source close to the Bieber camp told the Chicago Sun-Times that the singer was adamant about getting an apology.
“This is not about money,” the source said. “Clearly Mariah doesn’t have anything. It’s about getting a very public, widely televised apology - showing the world that people cannot subject celebrities to things like this simply because they are famous.”
The singer recently appeared on the David Letterman show, maintaining his innocence.
“I think I can smell a weasel, too, a little bit,” Bieber told Letterman. “I know, it’s pretty crazy. People make up false accusations.”
Although Yeater reportedly dropped the case, she has yet to admit to the media that her claims were false, after appearing in various outlets to speak out against Bieber.
