Justin Bieber Boycott? Fans Furious After 2-Hour Concert Delay (VIDEO)
Justin Bieber infuriated fans after reportedly arriving two hours late for his opening night at London's O2 Arena. Now some are now urging the public to boycott the popular singer.
On Monday, hundreds of young fans were forced to leave Bieber's concert before it began despite having paid to watch him perform. The singer reportedly arrived at 10.30 p.m., which was just minutes before the show was scheduled to end, forcing many of his young fans to either stay up past their bedtime or leave early, according to Daily Mail.
"I was 40 min late to stage," Bieber defiantly tweeted after being bombarded with complaints after the show.
Bieber, 19, was reportedly scheduled to begin the show at 8.30 p.m., but the singer is adamant that reports about him being two hours late are inaccurate. He offered an explanation for his tardiness, though.
"Last night i was scheduled after 3 opening acts to go on stage at 935 not 830," he tweeted. "But because of some technical issues i got on at 10:10."
As seen in the video below, the crowd eventually began booing Bieber due to frustration stemming from the long wait and limited explanation. Irate fans are now calling on a refund of tickets and a boycott of the singer, with some flocking to social networking site Twitter to vent their outrage.
"Disgusted hearing of @justinbieber rudeness! Think everyone should have left + demanded full refund! #Boycott all future #Bieber concerts!" Mary Adams tweeted.
"Boycott #JUSTIN Bieber gigs & music (ill find this very easy cos he's c---) . He obviously has no respect for his fans," Mr. Grumpy tweeted.
"@justinbieber #JUSTRUDE boycott me thinks," Karen Martin tweeted.
The singer, who recently celebrated his 19th birthday, has had a difficult year since his New Year's Eve break-up with singer Selena Gomez.
In January, Bieber was reportedly photographed smoking marijuana with 19-year-old Dallas rapper Lil Twist. Just days prior, Chris Guerra, a 29-year-old freelancer photographer, died while attempting to capture photos of Bieber's Ferrari.
Fans expressed outrage in Bieber's alleged drug use, prompting the pop idol to issue an apology.
"Everyday growing and learning. trying to be better. u get knocked down, u get up," Bieber tweeted Jan. 5 in what appeared to be his response to the alleged marijuana photos.
Other cryptic tweets read, "i see all of u. i hear all of u...i never want to let any of you down. i love u. and..thank u...like i said...2013...new challenges. new doubters...Im ready."
