Justin Bieber Fans Cutting Themselves 'Disrespectful,' Says Miley Cyrus

Justin Bieber's fans are participating in a trend of cutting their bodies to protest his alleged marijuana use which has upset Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus, an entertainer who is also a friend of Bieber, took to her own Twitter account to chastise those who were posting images of themselves allegedly mutilating their bodies in the name of Bieber.

"#cut4bieber? Cutting is NOT something to joke about," Cyrus tweeted. "There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful."

Bieber, 18-year-old Canadian crooner, appeared in recent photographs where he is pictured holding a cylindrical roll that left news outlets and fans speculating about his possible usage of marijuana. An online message board that is known for pulling pranks called 4chan encouraged fans of Bieber to help him stop smoking by using the hashtag #cuttingforbieber and #cut4bieber, according to National Post reports.

The hashtag became a trending topic on Twitter Monday, when a number of fans created fake Twitter accounts and posted images of themselves pretending to inflict bodily harm upon themselves to prevent Bieber from smoking. Although a number of the images featured fake blood made from ketchup spread across people's arms with knives pictured nearby, many expressed their outrage about the people participating in the trend.

Frankie Boyle, Scottish comedian, took to his Twitter to speak out against those following the trend also.

"I feel a lot of sympathy for you if you self harm. I'd like to harm you too. #cut4bieber," he tweeted.

The Twitter account officialCANCER made sure to let Bieber's fans and those following the trend about their antics being disrespectful.

"Cutting is NOT something to joke about," a tweet from @officialCANCER reads. "There are people who are actually suffering from self-harm, this is so disrespectful."
