Justin Bieber's Mom Pattie Mallette Addresses Rumors Following Singer's Arrest
Justin Bieber's mother Pattie Mallette took to Twitter clearing up rumors following her son's recent arrest on drunk driving charges.
The "Boyfriend" singer resisted arrest before he was taken into custody in Miami on Jan. 23, and was driving without a valid license. Shortly thereafter, report found in The Sun quoted Mallette saying that she was requesting prayers for Bieber.
However, Mallette cleared the air by taking to Twitter on Thursday evening, slamming the various false reports.

"I didn't do any interviews with The Sun. Why is everyone saying I did," she wrote. "Gossip writers making things up? Shocker!!"
The report Mallette referred to had quoted Mallette discussing the entertainment industry and Christianity.
"I think so many people go into the entertainment industry with amazing Christian roots and they get influenced somehow," The Sun reported the book author as saying. "I ask that people keep me and Justin in their minds. I pray for him every day."
Meanwhile, other reports suggested that Bieber was "avoiding" his mother following his arrest.
"Justin is not listening to his mother and he's been trying to avoid dealing with her and other people in his camp," an alleged source was quoted by Daily Mail. Mallette has not confirmed the report, however.
Mallette has admitted that her son wanted a bit of distance. She sat down with The Christian Post last year and said Bieber "wanted space" from her. As a result, she decided to go forward with her own project- the book "Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom."
"I have been sharing my story since before Justin started his career, he has heard it so many times over years, and so when he turned 18 … He wants some space, so I'm going to do a little but of the things I want to do," Mallette explained to CP.
The book offers a candid account of Mallette's life, including welcoming her son Justin at just 18 years old. It is her hope that "Nowhere But Up" helps teens, including Justin's millions of fans.
"I think its just good timing, I have over two million Twitter followers that call me 'mom,'" Mallette continued. "I really feel a responsibility to respond."
Today, speculation continues on the situation with Bieber's arrest, but all that is certain is that the popstar was released on "standard" $2,500 bond on Thursday.
