Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith Deny Claims of Underage Clubbing
Justin Bieber, 19, recently took to social media to vent about having a terrible birthday while defending his underage friend Jaden Smith against claims that he was the cause for the negative experience.
"Worst birthday," Bieber tweeted before taking to Instagram to speak about an incident that took place at London's Cirque du Soir nightclub.
While some British publications reported that Bieber attempted to bring his 14-year-old friend into the club, E! Online also reported that the club's security had issues with the 19-year-old's underage entourage.
"We, like all clubs in London, operate a strict age policy," a spokesperson for the club reportedly told E! "As a few of the members of the party were under the suitable age of 18, the security team at Cirque Du Soir, London, clearly explained this rule and refused entry to the club for anyone who could not provide us with adequate proof of age."
There was speculation that 14-year-old Smith caused an issue for Bieber to enter the nightclub, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"There was never any mention of Jaden being there, so when he showed up, it caused problems," a source reportedly told EW. "They could have stayed if Jaden left, but Justin wanted to be loyal to his good friend."
The Canadian crooner took to Instagram to deny the claims.
"The funny moment when people believe I brought underage people to a club," he wrote.
Smith also decided to defend himself by taking to Twitter to deny that he attempted to get into the nightclub to celebrate Bieber's birthday.
"I gave Justin his Cartier then went home," Smith tweeted one day after Bieber's birthday.
Bieber defended his friend further, claiming that Smith's father and actor Will Smith would never let his son attend a place where he wasn't supposed to be, while reprimanding the club.
"U think Will is letting his 14 year old in a club, I don't think so. 2nd I love how the club wanted to give the press another reason to why we didn't stay at their weak (expletive) club so they wouldn't look bad for me walking in and right back out," Bieber wrote on Instagram. "I said 'worst bday' but that was due to dummies pushing over my fans and being overly aggressive. Btw it wasn't the worst bday cuz all my friends from back home flew in I was just mad in the moment."
