Justin Bieber’s Legal Team Rallies Over 'Sad' Paternity Suit

Justin Bieber has “lawyered up” over a 20-year-old woman’s paternity suit claiming he is the father of her child.

Bieber’s legal team has taken a stand, vehemently denying any involvement Bieber had with Mariah Yeater, the mother of a 3-month-old baby boy.

“While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate, malicious, defamatory AND demonstrably false claims,” said Bieber’s representative speaking to US Weekly.

Adding, “We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”

Yeater claimed that on Oct. 25, 2010 Bieber propositioned her after a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

In her complaint, Yeater wrote: “Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone. I agreed to go with him and on the walk to a private area, he told me he wanted to make love and this was going to be his first time."

She is demanding a paternity test as well as child support from the now 17-year-old superstar for her son, Tristyn. Because Bieber was 16 at the time of the alleged conception, statutory issues will also be sorted out during a court hearing on Dec. 15.

The rumors surface as Bieber is promoting his new Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, released Tuesday. An open Christian, the singer has spoken out against casual sex, and has denied the paternity rumors on Twitter.

“With this album Im giving a portion of the proceeds to #charity … Im trying to help #GIVEBACK… nothing will stop my from that focus. NOTHING,” Bieber posted on his Twitter account Wednesday.

“So I’m going to ignore the rumors… and focus on what is real,” Bieber continued. “An opportunity to help by doing what I love. Judge me on the music! Love yall!”

Bieber is scheduled to attend the MTV Europe Video Awards in Belfast, Ireland Sunday, and will receive an award that recognizes his charitable work.
