Justin Bieber's Pastor Talks Bonding With Singer Over Scriptures

Judah Smith, the pastor of Justin Bieber who also leads The City Church in Seattle, Wash., recently revealed that he and the 19-year-old Canadian crooner bond over the Bible.

"Justin and I share Scriptures on a regular basis and communicate," Smith recently told E! "And I think you find a lot of comfort and clarity in the Scriptures."

While some children fall asleep to lullabies, Smith revealed that Bieber spent many of his nights being lulled to sleep by tapes of the pastor's spiritual teachings. Smith recently spoke to E! News about meeting Bieber and his mother Pattie Mallette at a conference where the pastor spoke years ago.

During their first encounter, Smith recalled learning that his spiritual teaching helped the young Bieber sleep as a child.

"So I went up there, and come to find out him and his mom had been to a conference years ago," Smith told E! "And she got some of my tapes, literally tapes not CDs, and would play them as he was going to sleep."

It seemed that Bieber also recalled the pastor's impact on his young life.

"When I met him, one of the first things Justin said was, 'Do you remember meeting me?'" Smith said about a conversation that he had with the pop star "And I said, 'Well, I don't.' He said, 'Well, you'd put me to sleep at night.'"

Smith recently released a book title "Jesus Is," which was endorsed by Bieber on social networking websites like Twitter where the pop star has millions of followers. Earlier this year, the pastor had nothing but kind words about the singer whom he works to encourage.

"I do my best to encourage him, and he's a spectacular young man," Smith said during an appearance on Fox earlier this year.
